About us

Sweetch Energy is a renewable energy player specialising in osmotic energy, committed to a carbon neutral world.

Our mission is to build a net zero future by exploiting a massively available, yet untapped, natural source of energy: osmotic power.

Strong beliefs in Top Sciences, Fundamental Research and DeepTech are core values.

Thanks to our INOD® technology, osmotic power will become a new pillar of the global electricity mix. It is the only solution in the world that can continuously convert salt water into 100% clean electricity at competitive price and on a large scale.

We are a manufacturer of osmotic generators and a producer of renewable electricity - we build & operate osmotic power unit in estuaries and deltas.

40% of our people has an international background. We love diversity and broad minded.

Our team is driven by a desire to push back the frontiers of renewable energy.

Your mission

You will join the System & Validation team within the Product & Process Engineering department. The team brings together system, validation, and data engineers. You will work closely with both the Product & Process Engineering department and the Power department, which is responsible for the development of our osmotic energy production sites and industrial partnerships.

Main mission:
Design and validate the microfiltration systems for test equipment and the pilot plant. Define preventive and corrective cleaning protocols to ensure optimal hydraulic conditions, maintain long-term membrane performance, and minimize operating costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify fouling risks (particles, colloids, biofouling) and define the corresponding microfiltration strategy.

  • Size filters, pumps, and CIP loops for flow rates ranging from a few mL/min to several m³/h for our testing equipment.

  • Establish cleaning protocols (sequence, chemistry, temperature, duration), validate their effectiveness and their impact on the membranes.

  • Define accelerated aging studies and evaluate the long-term durability of materials and components under operational conditions; analyze results and recommend maintenance cycles.

  • Conduct and analyze laboratory tests, evaluate results from the pilot site.

  • Develop and commission hydraulic test benches; implement instrumentation, collect and analyze data (flow rate, pressure drop, turbidity, conductivity).

  • Draft design documents, risk assessments, test procedures, and validation reports.

  • Provide technical support to the Power team for the integration of microfiltration/CIP systems into pilot and industrial installations.

  • Lead accelerated aging studies on filtration components and membrane materials.

  • Characterize the industrial water sources of prospects identified by the Power team, assess operating risks and osmotic potential.

  • Monitor technological developments and innovations in microfiltration.

The ideal profile

Engineer in hydrodynamics, process engineering, or water treatment, from a recognised or university, passionate about innovation in renewable energy. With over 7 years of experience, you have designed and validated microfiltration systems, hydraulic skids, or CIP loops, ideally in membrane-based processes.

You are proficient in hydraulic sizing (pressure drop calculations, pump selection, instrumentation/control, P&ID), and in designing cleaning protocols with consideration for material compatibility and environmental regulations. Your knowledge of interfacial and inorganic chemistry allows you to analyze membrane aging processes in detail.

Experienced in managing technical projects in agile environments (start-ups or large innovative companies), you can bridge R&D, industrialization, and suppliers to deliver robust and cost-effective solutions.

Result-oriented, you quickly translate your analyses into practical and competitive solutions. Your scientific curiosity and eagerness to learn are key assets to contribute to the continuous improvement of our formulations and processes.

Your positive mindset and passion for tackling challenges help you turn each difficulty into an opportunity for progress.

Bonus: skills in CFD, automated test bench operation, or microfluidics.
